Ongoing disparities in behavioral health care are being intensified by shifts in policy and reductions in community-based services and supports. These changes have impacted client well-being, access to care, and trust in mental health systems. Many providers are seeking guidance on how to navigate these complex challenges in a respectful and inclusive way. This training offers practical strategies to help clinicians provide responsive, equity-informed care that supports all clients within today’s evolving social and policy landscape.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for psychologists, social workers, counselors, and other mental health professionals.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
- Identify the historical and structural roots of racism within behavioral health systems and their ongoing impact on all communities.
- Analyze how institutional policies shape client engagement and treatment outcomes.
- Apply antiracist frameworks and culturally responsive approaches in clinical practice and case conceptualization.
- Develop strategies to advocate for equity and inclusion within their organizations and professional roles.
- Evaluate their own practice environments for alignment with antiracist principles and identify areas for growth.
