Clinical Applications Of Technology To Increase Homework Adherence, Therapeutic Alliance, And Clinical Outcomes In ERP For OCD: A New Paradigm

This presentation was originally reviewed on October 15, 2025, and in person and live streamed online on October 17, 2025, from 12:10 pm- 1:10 pm ET.

The views and opinions expressed by this presenter in this lecture are their own, and do not represent the views of Sheppard Pratt.

EBT homework adherence is the most consistent and strongest predictor of exposure treatment effects. Although clinicians often note that adherence is their largest clinical barrier, tools to encourage adherence have not substantially changed in over 45 years, consisting mainly of pen and paper tracking lists or digital lists of homework tasks to be done. The presentation will introduce a new tool and paradigm that leverages asynchronous telehealth, interactive learning, and crowdsourcing. The paradigm links patients to their providers, extending the therapeutic relationship and empowering clinicians to “apify” their own custom assignments, while also linking providers to each other, fostering a supportive community of EBT practitioners sharing ready-to-use and searchable resources, assignments, and wisdom.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and other mental health professionals.
