Social Anxiety Disorder may be more prevalent than one might think.  About 12% of Americans struggle with social anxiety in their lifetime. The impact of social anxiety is broad.  It can profoundly affect employment, relationship development, performance, and even using the bathroom. Without appropriate treatment sufferers may develop depression or utilize substances to help manage social situations. The social restrictions that came along with COVID-19 certainly did not help those who already felt uncomfortable in social situations. This presentation will assist in developing diagnostic skills for SAD and a deeper awareness of the struggles SAD creates.  It will be the first step in being prepared to provide the relief millions with SAD deserve.
