About the speaker

Faith Dickerson, PhD, MPH is a clinical psychologist with public health research training. She is a senior psychologist at Sheppard Pratt and heads the Stanley Research Program at Sheppard Pratt that is dedicated to advancing knowledge about schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses and about treatments that may help in reducing illness symptoms. She is also an adjunct professor in the Departments of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her research program has enrolled more than 2,500 people, all of whom have been clinically assessed and had a blood sample drawn from which immune markers have been measured. The research program also conducts clinical trials of adjunctive immunomodulatory agents, studies about suicide and mortality, and studies of psychosocial interventions to reduce premature mortality including those focused on tobacco smoking cessation and weight management. She is also an investigator in the Connection Learning Healthcare System which is the Maryland-Pennsylvania hub of the Early Psychosis Intervention Network (EPINET), a nationwide research endeavor to improve clinical care and outcomes for people experiencing early psychosis.
